Gain Collision is looking to add an Apprentice Automotive Prepper/Painter to our fast-growing collision repair facility. We are a state of the art 30,000 sq ft. collision repair center with a focus on late model European cars as well as classic car restoration and collision. Qualifications, Experience, Desired Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years experience
  • Drivers License
  • Computer skills
  • Basic understanding of color matching and experience with all related color matching tools. Ie. color mapping/photo spectrophotometer
  • Prepping and priming car bodies for spot repairs and complete paint resprays
  • Experience in blending and spot repairs as well as complete resprays
  • Wet sand polishing to luxury industry standards
  • Experience with both solvent and water base-coat/ clear-coat systems
  • Good customer communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as being self motivated
  • Produce a consistent, high quality product
  • Commitment to safe work habits and industry safety programs

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with estimators and management team regarding any supplemental work required.
  • Prime and prepare all surfaces for top coat finish
  • Monitor the quality control of the project.
  • Color map and spray out test cards to ensure accurate color matching
  • Apply finishes and wet sand polish to luxury industry standards
  • Control and manage prep and paint supplies as required
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times
