Kitchen Steward / Apprentice Cook – Villa Eyrie Resort

$21.00 per hour + Fuel + Gratuities + Benefits (medical and dental)

The Villa Eyrie Resort is a vital part of the GAIN Group of Companies and its unique offering of luxury experiences. Located only 25 minutes from downtown Victoria, the Villa Eyrie Resort features stunning views from both our rooms, spa and restaurant. We focus primarily on leisure and experiential getaways for clients from Vancouver Island and British Columbia. It goes with out saying that friendly service and personalized care are also very important to us and our guests. We are open 365 days a year for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alpina Restaurant, at Villa Eyrie Resort remains busy even during the shoulder season.

We are currently seeking a full-time, five days a week, Kitchen Steward/Apprentice Cook to join our incredible team.

What you will need to be a part of our great team….

  • Flexible and available to work any shift, statutory holidays, weekends; on call as required
  • Ability to multi-task and lift heavy plate-ware to top shelves
  • Personable, friendly, with a positive go-getter attitude
  • Food Safe an asset
  • Hold a valid BC driver’s license

What you will do….

  • Always maintain cleanliness of the dish and kitchen areas
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of all dishware and cutlery
  • Ensure recycling and waste areas are clean and cleared regularly
  • Co-ordinate and communicate with Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef on daily day to day events and tasks that may be beyond the normal day.
  • Inspect dishwashing area daily to ensure cleanliness, physical condition and functioning equipment. Inspect all dishware and cutlery to ensure they are cleaned properly
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations to ensure all COVID procedures are adhered to
